Illya is a Ranger, an elven warrior who must take an oath of celibacy to serve. Still, she fell in love, and now her punishment is to give birth in secret and abandon the baby along the Trail of Orphans. She thought keeping her pregnancy hidden would be the hardest part, but she soon learns giving up her newborn is a task she may not be strong enough to face.
The Trail of Orphans is a short fantasy story about whether certain sacrifices are worth making. This is a side-story to the free webcomic, Dark Wings: Eryl, but can be enjoyed on its own. Included in the ZIP folder are multiple file formats so the story can be enjoyed in whichever way is most comfortable for you.
